The fabric numbers
What does the number on each piece mean?
Each cloth has a number: Fabric 03 houndstooth, Fabric 05 grey flannel, Fabric 07 pinstripe, Fabric 09 navy twill and Linen 11. Every piece with the same number is cut from the same cloth, so a Fabric 03 Blazer and Fabric 03 Wide Trouser make a suit.
Will two pieces with the same number match if I buy them at different times?
Each fabric number is produced from one specified cloth and colour, and new batches are checked against the reference swatch before they are cut. As with any dyed cloth, a very slight shade difference between batches is possible; if you are buying a suit, ordering the pieces together gives the closest match.
Can I mix numbers?
Yes. The five cloths were chosen to sit together — for example a houndstooth blazer with grey flannel trousers, or a pinstripe waistcoat with navy trousers. Each product page suggests one mix.
Is there a discount for buying a suit?
No. Every piece is priced on its own and a suit costs the sum of its pieces. That also means you can return one piece and keep the other.
Sizes and fit
Which sizes do you make?
Tailoring comes in UK 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 (EU 34–48, US 2–16). Trousers also come in three leg lengths: Short, Regular and Long. Shell tops run XS to XL and belts come in S/M and M/L. See Fit & sizes.
How do I choose between two sizes?
For blazers, choose by bust and shoulder; for trousers and skirts, by waist and hip. If you are between sizes, take the larger for a relaxed fit or the smaller for a closer fit. Garment measurements for a UK 12 are on every product page.
Can I have trousers shortened?
We do not offer alterations. The three leg lengths cover inside legs from 71 to 84 cm; any local tailor can take up a hem. Altered pieces cannot be returned under the right to cancel.
Care
Can I wash my suit?
Fabric 07 pinstripe, Fabric 09 navy twill and Linen 11 can be washed at 30°C on a gentle cycle; we still recommend dry cleaning for blazers so the shoulders keep their shape. Fabric 03 and Fabric 05 contain wool and should be dry cleaned. The care instructions for each piece are on its product page and its label.
How do I look after the pieces between wears?
Hang blazers on a wide wooden hanger, brush wool cloth after wearing, and let pieces rest for a day between wears. Steam or press on the reverse with a cloth between the iron and the fabric.
Orders, payment and delivery
Which currency will I pay in?
The currency of your delivery country: GBP in the United Kingdom, EUR in the euro area, DKK in Denmark, SEK in Sweden, NOK in Norway, CHF in Switzerland and USD in the United States. The currency code is shown next to the total before you pay. You can change the delivery country at the top of every page.
How can I pay?
With the payment methods shown at checkout. Payments are processed securely by our payment providers; we never see or store your full card details.
Will I pay import charges?
Orders ship from the United Kingdom. For deliveries outside the UK, your country may charge import VAT, duty or a carrier handling fee on delivery, which the recipient pays. See Delivery & import charges.
How long does delivery take?
We dispatch within 1–3 working days. Delivery then takes 2–4 working days in the UK and 5–12 working days elsewhere, depending on the country.
Returns
Can I return something?
Yes. You can cancel within 14 days of delivery without giving a reason and send pieces back unworn with their tags. See Returns & refunds, or use Withdraw from contract here.
Do you swap sizes?
Not directly: cancel the piece that does not fit and order the size you need. Your refund for the first piece is made within 14 days of us receiving it back.
